CARE

Purpose

To build community within Bethany by fostering and creating an environment conducive to worship, fellowship, and spreading the love of Christ within the body.
We serve the church in tangible ways such as Sunday and Friday worship setup and the organization of fellowship activities.

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'” This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: “‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'” All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:36-40

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.” 1 John 3:16

What We Do

Sunday Worship – Ushering, Greeting, Welcoming Newcomers, Celebrating Birthdays

Activities – Friday Night Fellowship Games, Class Dinners, Monthly Bowling

Missions

Purpose

To grow as faithful senders in our love and commitment to the body of Christ, primarily through: (1) intercessory prayer (2) raising awareness (3) financial giving.

Bethany Prayer & Missions Ministry desires to grow in partnership with the saints and missionaries in the Gospel, “both in their imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel” (Phil. 1:7). We seek to support our missionaries and “remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body” (Heb 13:3).

Our main hope and prayer is that God would use Prayer & Missions ministry to teach us how to be servants who are “faithful in a very little,” (Luke 16:10) by dedicating time to pray for those who are far and near. We pray that God would show our church what it looks like for our “love to abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, to approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes from Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God” (Phil. 1:9-11).
